If you are trying to lose weight and are a person that eats out all the time then let that be the first thing you cut. I just read a study that said more and more children are eating fast food. If it is served for lunch that is half of their caloric intake and almost more than their recommended sodium for the day. Healthy eating starts with you. You are the best role model for your children. I feel very passionately about children eating healthier meals. I think most think I'm ridiculous about how strongly I feel towards this topic. But, come on, let's look at some statistics (according to U.S. Department of Health):
-if you're obese as a teen you're 70% more likely to be as an adult (this increases to 80% if a parent is obese)
-over 10 million children from ages 6-19 are obese
-the amount of overweight children since 1980 has TRIPLED
Obviously this is due to a lot of concerning factors, less meals at home, less children eating breakfast, and less physical activity. I urge you to start making healthier choices. Even if you dedicate 3-4 times a week to walking for 30 minutes, eating out less, and increasing your amount of fruits and vegetables! This will have lasting effects for both you and your family!
